The devious Left is slowly beginning to reveal itself. It has long been the case that a fairly large group of the political left hates and detests anything that might conceivably pose any opposition to its own worldview. Thus, they “know” how to deal with crime and criminals, and the police are loathed and shunted aside for daring to have a view.
No wonder there is no traction for views that talk about real consequences for crime. Only the do-nothing left are perceived as having a worthwhile view.
But it goes further. The same cabal now seems to be stepping up its campaign against the Australian Defence Force.
Consider, this is the mob that refused to allow returning Vietnam Vets to march through our capital cities; men and women who served their country were treated like pariahs by the new government whose political aims were not served by acknowledging such iconic values as mateship, sacrifice and service.
They are not game to say it but they divide and they destroy and they belittle those who hold a contrary view.
Take the case of Ben Roberts-Smith. I make no real comment on what I understand to be the merits of the case beyond this:
- That any criminal prosecution based upon secret and unidentified informers must be suspect.
- That identity evidence, notoriously unreliable at the best of times, has to be crucial but seems to be more than a little shaky, in this case.
- That the outrageous public conflating of drinking from a prosthesis as somehow probative of murder makes those who did that more than irresponsible headline hunters, but more like head-hunters out to contaminate any future jury pool.
- The treatment of BRS by the Federal Police, his unnecessary and media-staged arrest, was completely disgraceful. There can be no doubt that BRS would have answered a summons, or if an arrest was truly necessary, then the common practice of surrender for arrest could have been used.
But then the recent budget set aside millions of dollars for finding more “war criminals” – more victims for our moralistic crusaders against Australian values and institutions.
You know, these are the guys who will not allow an examination of the abuse of Aboriginal children – so that some get killed; the same guys who force us to buy batteries made with cobalt extracted by slave-like labour in Africa rather than with Australian-mined cobalt.
Morality be damned; it is much more the case that they set out to divide us to rule us.
Was it Marx who preached the need to destroy in order to rebuild to your own specifications?
Meanwhile, publicly exposed rorting of major government projects continues. We all get ripped off by – at the very least, massively negligent public officials.
Does anyone else feel pummelled into insensitivity, or is it just me?

Pretty accurate assessment of what has been happening for some decades now. The left have even done a fine job of infiltrating and destroying the Liberals and the Military will be the last institution after law and order.
It’s a rolling tide of socialism. I look at our government buildings most flying three flags some up to six. Our children are confused our representatives weak and our morals and ethics crumbling but we must retain optimism and a willingness to stand for what we believe
All, of what you wrote here, I 100% agree with.
What I find enormously disturbing is what is happening regarding the arrest and 9 charges of threats and intimidation by one John Setka.
When do the public hear about this man, who as the ex boss of the CFMEU, and accusations of $15 billion criminally syphoned of the Victorian Big Build?
What rug has this been shoved under until after the Victorian election in November?
Why can’t the public know this?
Its not Just you!
It’s not just politicians. Our bureaucracy and institutions have been largely converted into obedient and proactive enforcers of leftist group think. I’d like to think that the average person is composed of more common sense than those who seek to decide how we should think and live, but with a complicit media and a judiciary that appears to favour disfunction, the average person rarely gets a voice.
Just look at what is happening with regard to One Nation at the moment. Clearly people are waking up to the scam we’ve all been subjected to for some decades now, and are turning to an alternative ideology for change. What is the response of the left wing establishment to this? Do they question themselves, their motivations and behaviours? No, they double down on the name calling and the sanctimonious holier-than-thou moral posturing. It is becoming clear that change will only occur when the average person is so dissatisfied that they take to the streets en masse.
This is an excellent article by Noel Newnham and something to think about.
The institutions we have traditionally relied on to maintain and reinforce the values of our democracy have been compromised too often.
For example:
1. The arrest of Ben Roberts-Smith is a disgrace and could have easily been avoided, but instead was a deliberate media event. It will be interesting to see the evidence to support the charges. (I also have concerns).
2. The politicians who make promises to get elected and when elected brake those promises and think that this is acceptable.
3. The behaviour of certain politicians (the leaders of our country) that is clearly unacceptable as measured by the test of a “reasonable person” and yet they are not sanctioned and continue in their portfolio.
4. The progressive attack on free speech.
And there are many other examples.
Generally, it seems to me that everything that doesn’t count matters, and things that do count, don’t.
The decision-maker[s] who contributed to the contrived and unduly public arrest of B R-S have patently shown their true political colours. Whether the decision-maker[s] acted on their own biased behalf [improperly] or [similarly improperly] as a result of influence from a party-political operative is unclear. Certainly, it was not a politically neutral procedure. Justice has already been tainted. The blatant deviation from neutrality, as demonstrated by the manner of the arrest overseen or conducted by senior law enforcement officers, underwrites the probability of political interference. This writer hopes that any Court hearings that may follow do not act as a coincidental distraction from public awareness of other sensitive political matters.
Thanks Rob Hulls!
